Did a migration from UCG-Ultra to UCG-Fiber recently. Took longer than expected. Online guide was correct, except that it didn’t account for exceptions. When things go normally, it’s a simple hardware swap and replace, restore from latest backup, either online or via your downloaded copy.
But, I hit a roadblock because UCG-Fiber didn’t and understandly, couldn’t come with the latest firmware. The UCG-Fiber network app wasn’t the same version as my current UCG-Ultra’s. I also couldn’t perform an update (repo issue). Support shared that this seems to be a known issue.
To overcome this, just have to enrol into early access program and then the firmware could be updated to the latest. You can switch back to Official channel thereafter. After this, perform the restoration from backup and everything works.
